Before the 2026 Shanghai Half Marathon

A short note before Sunday, March 15, 2026: probably not a PB day, but still a good day to race.

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, I will run the Shanghai Half Marathon.

I may not be able to beat my PB of 1:43:41 this time. After Chinese New Year, I gained some weight, and I do not feel as sharp as I would like. That is simply the reality going into this race.

Still, not every race needs to be a personal best attempt.

Sometimes the goal is smaller and more honest: show up well, run with patience, and see what the day gives back. A half marathon is long enough to punish impatience, but short enough to reward good rhythm. That is what I want on Sunday.

If the legs feel good, I will press a little. If not, I will keep it steady and enjoy running through Shanghai.
