Most of my running happens on trails. Mountains, forests, heat, climbs, and long periods of quiet. Trail running has a way of stripping things down until pacing, fuel, patience, and judgment are the only things that matter.
Road marathons taught me control. Trail races taught me humility. Together they changed how I think about effort: not as something dramatic, but as something repeatable.
Finishing Xiamen UTMB 100km on March 2, 2025 reinforced the same lesson I keep seeing in product work. Most outcomes are decided before the hard day arrives. Training, preparation, and restraint do more than heroics.
